it's time for the 2nd annual living nativity presented by the oaklandish family players.
Staring!
Monrovia scarlet scout as Mary
barely walking baby Myles as Joseph
mute cousins Ruby and Sadie as The Wise Men
the fisher of men Micah as a Shepherd
mature and adult Ashlynn as the Angel
don't be fooled by her wings Brennan as a Shepherd
Little Son as the little Inn Keeper
husband as a big hairy Animal
and Smasher in the role of a life time as Baby Jesus
seriously how cute is that
until little inn keeper put straw all over baby jesus's face and then the inn keeper was put into a timeout. the first noel, the first timeout B.C. [before (a) crowd]...whatever you want to call it.
and then there were the strolling minstrels:
such a fun tradition! and i have to tell you, it was so funny to me how my son decided to be the inn keeper. i was showing him the nativity story books we have, going thru the pages...you can be a shepherd, or a wise man, or an angel or joseph. His response: "I want to be the inn keeper." I was silent for a minute...hmm that wasn't one of my options. The inn keeper made that big an impression on him? And when I asked him why he said "Because I can say there's no room in the inn." and then it hit me...of course he is my son. the Inn Keeper is the only one with lines. Bring on the academy awards, he's already an actor.

Doesn't get any cuter! Baby Jesus in a duckie outfit!!
SO CUTE!!
My favorite parts are Judah's "No room at the inn!", him at 3:30 ("That's not baby Jesus, that's Samuel..."), and Samuel trying to sing along at 4:18.
I love this. What a fun tradition.
i love this. my kids would love this too.
well kacie, you should join us!!!!
This was the cutest thing ever! And Smasher and Judah stole the show. Though Monrovia's hair was a close second (gorgeous!). Sorry sis, there's no use keeping him from the limelight . . . theater has already claimed his soul. ;D
